The great thing about this historical place is that it has about three thousand years of history. The early name of this town was Nongharm Town and it is known to have been built in the 11th century.

This city is located in the Isaan region of Thailand. This means it is in the northeast part of the country. It is the capital of the province with the same name. She is on the Phu Phan mountain range. If you love to meditate, there are many forest temple retreats to meet your needs.

The city is around 647 km’s from Bangkok so it is quite a journey.

Take a car:

If you travel from Bangkok, you can take your car as the distance is something that can be managed through a road trip. It might take around 8-10 hours, which will differ based on your driving speed.


Similar to a car, there are bus services operated from Bangkok and as compared to a car, the cost will be less. You can even choose luxury buses to reach comfortably to Sakon Nakhon.

Finally, you can choose to get a train or fly.
