Playa de las Americas is a renowned hotspot in the Canary Islands that has grown and grown since the 1960s. This resort stands out against others in Tenerife as its coastline is covered in beautiful golden sand (as opposed to Tenerife’s natural black sand) which draws in travelers looking for a fantastic beach break. This lively resort is perfect for those looking for a fun-filled holiday. The whole town is geared towards tourists, with golf, water sports and beaches by day. By night, there are wild parties and club nights that last until the early hours!
This resort is perfect for families as there are activities for all ages. Little ones will be entertained by the children’s pools, the light and music fountain, boat excursions and more. Older kids in their teens and twenties can enjoy the escape rooms as well as a huge range of water sports and pools. Parents will love Playa too, with the fantastic 18-hole Golf las Americas course and plenty of hotel spas and spectacular beaches.
If you’re looking for a quiet relaxed atmosphere, perhaps Playa de las Americas isn’t the place for you. The town is always buzzing and it can get very busy during the peak season. Most travelers flock to Playa de las Americas between June – September with peak parties kicking off in July and August. If you’d prefer a more chilled holiday then perhaps stay outside of Playa de las Americas but be sure to visit for a day trip or two!
Where to Stay in Playa de las Americas
There are many large hotels located along the beachfront of Playa de las Americas so it is difficult to know which one to choose.
